Hello and thank you for giving so much information - I'm really looking forward to my visit to the Uffizi.
I'm wondering if it's allowed to take pictures in the museum (I know in some big museums they let you do it).
Photography is my hobby and I would love to take some photos of the paintings.
Thank You in advance.
Hi Jeff,
That's a great question, thanks for asking!
The answer is yes and no. In the Uffizi you are not allowed to take pictures of the works, but you are allowed to take pictures of the views over Florence from the windows of the Gallery (there are some gorgeous views of the Arno and Ponte Vecchio from the building). This means that you can bring your camera into the museum. Some people do manage to snap a picture or two of the works as well, since the museum guards are not as attentive as they could be and are often off chatting - of course, this would be breaking the rules, but I'm just giving you the 'insider info' about what really goes on in the Uffizi!
Hope that helps and have a great visit in Florence!
All the best,
Carol
